Gyraf XXIII

The Gyraf Audio G23 Ambler is all about subtle tonal brush strokes, with the Tilt and High bands offering a -/+4dB of gain, mid band offering +/- 2dB and lows +/-6.5dB. These subtle values however will yield dramatic results on mixed material. Unlike other tilt eqs which are based on the principle of baxandall eqs, the Gyraf G23 uses linear-slope filters with a maximum steepness of 1dB/Oct avoiding smearing and phase issues at the centre frequency point to ensure extreme musicality.

In addition to the Tilt EQ, the Gyraf Audio G23 also includes standard Baxandall EQs with shelving Lows and Highs and a mid-band with a very wide Q. All three bands have selectable frequencies adding further flexibility. The G23 Ambler tilt Eq is stereo and both Left and right share the same sets of controls.

Like with all Gyraf Audio products, the G23 uses valves and passive circuitry with a full-relay bypass and it feaures a gain trim function for easy comparison between Eq’d and unprocessed signal.
